The Travelers Indemnity Company seeks an experienced Senior Counsel to independently manage high-exposure insurance defense matters and complex litigation across lines of business.

You will leverage extensive trial experience, conduct advanced legal research, draft substantive filings, and provide strategic guidance to insured clients and partners while mentoring junior attorneys and staff.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree (US JD).
• 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active license to practice law in the required state(s).
• Regularly handles hearings, trials, dispositive motions and depositions; able to transport as needed.

Aufgaben

• Independently handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation.
• Leverage trial experience to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and related proceedings.
• Provide strategy recommendations to insured clients and partners on file handling.
• Mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff.
