Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Counsel to independently manage a portfolio of higher exposure insurance defense cases and complex litigation across lines of business. You will apply advanced litigation skills, advise insured clients, and collaborate with Claim partners to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant state(s).
• Strong courtroom and advocacy skills with a record of success.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle a caseload of higher exposure cases and complex litigation.
• Leverage trial experience to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and prepare persuasive pleadings and motions.
• Attend court events, depositions, and other proceedings.
• Provide strategic analysis and guidance to insured clients and partners.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff; collaborate with experts as needed.
