Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Glendale, CA seeks an Associate Senior Counsel to manage a caseload of predominantly moderate to high exposure insurance defense matters from inception through trial and appeal, including Major Case matters depending on line of business. You will mentor less experienced attorneys and collaborate with experts to develop trial strategies.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or foreign equivalent; licensed to practice in required state(s).
• At least 4 years as a practicing attorney.
• Active license in good standing to practice law.
• Willingness to travel to meetings; valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Handle caseload of moderate to high exposure cases with Major Case matters as applicable.
• Apply pre-trial and trial advocacy to secure verdicts or favorable resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and craft persuasive writing and oral arguments.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claims partners.
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies and testimony.
• Mentor attorneys and support staff; contribute to training and updates.
