Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Associate Senior Counsel to manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, including Major Case litigation. You will apply trial experience to advance cases, draft substantive pleadings, and independently handle filings through trial and appeal.

You will mentor junior attorneys, build strong relationships with insured clients and claim partners, and collaborate with experts to develop strategies. Travel may be required as business needs demand.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Proven jury trial experience and successful courtroom outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of local bench and bar practices; effective communicator.

Responsibilities

• Leverage pre-trial and trial experience to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct proficient legal research and write persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Attend court events, depositions, and other appointments independently.
• Provide in-depth case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and Claim partners.
• Collaborates with expert witnesses and consultants to develop case strategies and testimony.
• Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships; manage multiple matters.
• Provide leadership through mentoring other attorneys and support staff.
• Contributes to special projects and supports office goals.
• Fully utilize case management systems and technology.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
