Job summary

Hyundai Capital America seeks a Senior Counsel, Litigation to independently manage a portfolio of complex consumer litigation matters and oversee outside counsel. You will develop strategies, coordinate discovery, and negotiate resolutions while monitoring budgets and providing risk assessments.

You will advise business partners, ensure timely reporting, and drive process improvements to reduce litigation exposure in a dynamic, values‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• California State Bar admission preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of civil litigation experience, handling complex matters and directing discovery.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a portfolio of complex consumer litigation and pre-litigation matters.
• Develop case strategies, supervise outside counsel, and monitor budgets and spend.
• Review invoices, advise on settlements, and coordinate with business partners on litigation risk.
• Lead discovery activities and coordinate with stakeholders to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Provide ongoing risk assessments and propose process improvements to reduce litigation exposure.
• Deliver regular litigation reports and maintain accurate matter records.
