Job summary

Hyundai Capital America is seeking a Senior Counsel, Litigation to independently manage a portfolio of complex consumer litigation and pre-litigation matters. You will develop case strategies, direct outside counsel, coordinate discovery, and monitor budgets while advising business partners on litigation risk.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of civil litigation experience, active CA bar membership, and a strong background in consumer finance or regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of civil litigation experience, including managing complex matters.
• Experience retaining and directing outside counsel and overseeing litigation budgets.
• Experience in consumer finance, financial services, or regulated industries; auto finance preferred.
• JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a portfolio of complex consumer litigation and pre-litigation matters.
• Develop case strategies and direct outside counsel; supervise discovery and budgeting.
• Provide risk assessments and practical litigation resolutions; monitor matter activity and reporting.
• Communicate complex legal issues clearly to business partners and leadership.
