Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is seeking a Sr. Counsel for Commercial Transactions to lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of sophisticated insurance distribution arrangements and reinsurance agreements in a remote role across the United States.

You will collaborate with business partners to translate new business models into clear risk allocations and contractual rights, while contributing to broader team initiatives and process improvements within CSAA IG.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions (fleet programs, fronting arrangements, collateral structures).
• Coordinate interrelated agreements and translate novel business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and broader commercial/contracts work.
• Participate in process-improvement initiatives and adoption of new tools for delivering legal services.
