Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is hiring a Sr. Counsel in Commercial Transactions. This remote role focuses on sophisticated insurance distribution, reinsurance, and multi-party programs, collaborating with partners to translate business models into clear legal structures.

You will draft, structure, and negotiate complex arrangements, partnering across the organization on initiatives and process improvements while contributing to broader contract work and IP/marketing matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex, multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and translate novel business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and other areas handled by the team.
• Participate in Legal department process-improvement initiatives and adopt new tools to deliver services.
