Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Counsel, Capital Markets to lead the company’s capitalization strategy. You will guide financing transactions and bank partnerships, draft and negotiate deal documents, and coordinate cross-functional legal efforts with a focus on capital markets regulations.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant law-firm experience (preferably with in-house fintech exposure) and a JD with US bar admission. Remote-first with flexible in-person options across the U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant law-firm experience (and preferred in-house fintech/start-up exposure).
• JD degree from a well-regarded law school; active US state bar membership.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support the capital markets team in building a network of capital sources and strategies, including international expansion.
• Draft, review and negotiate all US and international capital markets deal documents, including credit and security agreements, loan sale agreements, indentures, officer certificates, board and shareholder resolutions, and side letters.
• Lead each financing transaction or bank partner initiative from strategy discussions to deal execution and maintenance beyond closing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams as a capital markets and/or bank partnership legal main point of contact, providing thought leadership on other special projects.
