Job summary

Affirm seeks a Senior Counsel, Capital Markets to lead financing transactions and advise on capital sources and bank partnerships. You will draft and negotiate US and international deal documents, ensure compliance with lending and securities laws, and collaborate with cross-functional teams as the legal lead on capital markets initiatives.

With 7+ years of law-firm experience and in-house fintech exposure, you will guide complex financings, warehousing, securitizations, and structured finance,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant law-firm experience; in-house fintech start-up experience preferred.
• JD degree from a well-regarded law school and in good standing in a US state bar.
• Experience in structured/debt finance, including term loans, revolvers, asset-based lending, loan sales, securitizations.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support the capital markets team in building out the company’s network of capital sources and strategies, including international expansion.
• Lead financing transactions or bank partner initiatives from strategy to closing.
• Draft, review and negotiate US and international capital markets deal documents and related certificates.
• Demonstrate knowledge of lending and securities laws as they relate to capital markets.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams as the main legal contact for capital markets and bank partnerships.
