Job summary

Affirm seeks a Senior Counsel, Capital Markets to lead financing initiatives and advise on corporate transactions within its capital markets framework. This attorney will report to the Director, Capital Markets Counsel and work closely with the capital markets and bank partnerships teams.

The role involves drafting and negotiating US and international deal documents, guidance on securities laws, and coordinating cross-functional projects with a focus on growth and compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in law firm practice with in-house fintech exposure preferred.
• Experience in structured/debt finance incl. term, revolver, asset-based lending; securitizations.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex capital markets documents.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support capital markets in building out sources and international expansion.
• Advise on bank partnerships for origination and card issuing relationships.
• Lead financing transactions and bank initiatives from strategy to closing and thereafter.
• Draft, review, negotiate US/international capital markets documents: credit and security agreements, indentures, certificates, board resolutions, side letters.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of lending and securities laws applicable to capital markets.
• Communicate legal advice clearly and timely to cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate as main legal contact for capital markets projects.
