Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Cost Segregation Associate in Schaumburg, IL to lead engineering-based cost segregation studies for a diverse portfolio of properties. You will perform field inspections, analyze construction and financial data, and produce IRS-compliant studies that maximize tax benefits for clients.

You will collaborate with engineers and tax professionals, stay current on depreciation rules, and deliver clear, defensible reports while maintaining high quality and deadlines.

Qualifications

Five+ years of experience performing engineering-based cost segregation studies.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
Strong knowledge of MS Excel, RSMeans, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and cost segregation methodologies.
Willingness to travel for property inspections and client engagements.

Responsibilities

Conduct onsite property inspections to document building components for cost segregation analyses.
Evaluate drawings, records, costs to identify assets eligible for accelerated depreciation.
Prepare technical reports aligned with IRS depreciation guidelines and MACRS.
Explain methodologies and findings to clients and internal teams.
