Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Cost Segregation Associate to join our growing team. This role supports cost segregation studies with on-site data collection and fieldwork, traveling up to 60% of the time to client sites.

Ideal candidates have a background in engineering, construction, or related fields, plus at least 1 year of cost segregation experience, strong reading of blueprints, and solid communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in cost segregation, construction, or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, construction processes, and IRS regulations pertaining to cost segregation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and gather data to identify assets that qualify for accelerated depreciation.
• Perform in-depth analysis of architectural plans, construction documents, and blueprints.
• Prepare detailed cost segregation reports, including asset classification and tax documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax professionals and clients, to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
• Stay updated with current IRS guidelines and tax laws related to cost segregation.
• Provide guidance and answer technical questions for both internal teams and clients.
