Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Elkton, MD seeks a Principal Program Cost Scheduling Control Analyst to support Air and Missile Defense programs. You will partner with program management, leaders, and customers to manage budgets, schedules, and financial analyses.

Responsibilities include setting up cost control, preparing budgets, analyzing reports, and providing monthly and quarterly reporting; you will drive forecasting, variances, and profitability improvements while ensuring EVMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is acceptable with 5+ years of experience, or a master’s with 3+ years.
• Knowledge of EVMS and earned value management systems.
• Proven analytical, problem solving and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cost control systems, monitoring and controlling costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost schedule control system.
• Preparing budgets for contract work, and performing and/or assisting in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
• Preparing and analyzing financial reports and communicating recommendations to management in a clear, organized summary.
• Working with the program team to integrate project cost with scheduled activity.
• Providing monthly/quarterly reporting and analysis to support business processes.
• Assist in planning and forecasting program financial performance and preparing future strategic plans.
• Serving as a resource to management in understanding results by reporting and investigating variances.
• Analyzing business processes and making recommendations to improve process efficiency and support continuous improvement.
• Identifying potential profit impacts to programs and making recommendations for mitigation and improving profit margin.
• Preparing and tracking key performance metrics to direct management.
