Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support cost management across a portfolio of commercial real estate construction projects in New York. You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering cost planning, commercial management, procurement support, cost control, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires handling multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders with strong commercial acumen and excellent client-facing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management within construction.
• RICS accreditation or working toward it preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large, high complexity projects.
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders through the construction lifecycle.
• Produce and present final cost plans and cost control documents.
• Review estimates with design teams and general contractors.
• Reconcile changes and maintain data accuracy for cost reporting.
• Prepare cost estimate updates and executive summaries for stakeholders.
• Coordinate cost information from owners, engineers, vendors, and subs.
• Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering.
• Lead cost checks, valuations, and post-contract cost variances.
• Ensure timely final accounts and robust cost validation processes.
