Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead the delivery of cost management services across commercial real estate construction projects.

This role serves as a key day-to-day client interface, ensuring project objectives are achieved through proactive cost planning, commercial management, cost control, procurement support, and financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related construction field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management for the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium or large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders across the construction lifecycle.
• Produce and present final cost plans.
• Review and participate with the design services team and general contractor in the development of cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimate updates and executive summaries for stakeholders.
• Coordinate cost information from various sources including NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es.
• Lead cost checks, valuations, and post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
• Mentor junior staff and drive value engineering and procurement optimization.
