Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our New York City team. This role serves as the key client interface, delivering value-added cost management across large-scale manufacturing, industrial, and data center projects.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7 years of cost management experience in construction, with potential RICS accreditation. On-site presence required; base salary range is $140K–$175K USD plus bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation preferred or working towards it.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large-scale projects, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or data center environments.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, value management, and industrial construction delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating, cost planning, and change order management across the construction lifecycle.
• Prepare and present cost plans, estimates, and budget updates across multiple project phases.
• Review and collaborate with design teams, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors on costs.
• Reconcile cost changes and contractor submissions with current project conditions.
• Interface with owners, project managers, and contractors for cost updates and executive reporting.
• Support decisions with cost analysis, value engineering, constructability reviews, and optioneering.
• Manage cost checks, valuations, contingency tracking, and cost impact assessments.
• Administer post-contract cost control, change management, and cost auditing.
• Review pricing, support negotiations, and ensure competitive outcomes for the client.
• Produce monthly cost reports highlighting risks, trends, forecasts and opportunities.
