Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to act as a primary client interface for a major pharmaceutical expansion project in Wilson, North Carolina, about 50 minutes east of Clayton. You will lead cost management from planning through closeout, guiding cost plans, estimates, and value engineering with stakeholders.

The role requires strong client-facing communication, independence, and a track record in cost control on large-scale industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation preferred or actively working toward accreditation.
• Experience leading cost management services on medium to large-scale construction projects with industrial/pharma/manufacturing focus is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimate and cost planning services, including producing and presenting final cost plans.
• Review and participate with the design services team and GC in cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist the GC to ensure cost data is accurate.
• Prepare cost updates with owners, PMs, and contractors and present to stakeholders.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information for discussions (suppliers, subs, data, quantities).
• Develop cost plans and estimates through the design phase and update at milestones.
• Lead negotiations on pricing with contractors to secure fair pricing.
• Manage cost checks, valuations, and post-contract cost variance control.
