Job summary

ESS, Inc. in Chandler, AZ is seeking a senior Cost Engineer responsible for cost engineering and cost control on complex, non-routine projects requiring technical rigor.

You will establish budgets, monitor cost trends, prepare cashflow and revenue earnings, support PwC audits, ensure accurate cost coding, and guide junior Cost Engineers while partnering with project teams to meet financial goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience implementing change management processes and cost trend estimates.
• Strong communication skills, able to interpret technical scope impacts for trend documentation.
• Proficient in financial reporting, cost control and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Establishes, maintains and monitors project budgets, change management, cost monitoring, cost variance analysis, QURR reporting, and other cost reports.
• Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
• Prepares cashflow projections and revenue earnings; assists with PwC semiannual project audits.
• Ensures accuracy in cost coding of budgets and actuals.
• Performs budget allocations; identifies trends and supports change control; prepares cost studies.
• Mentors junior Cost Engineers and shares guidance across teams.
