Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and at least three years of editorial experience.
• Two years’ educational assessment experience and strong copyediting proficiency across spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage.
• Ability to interpret major style guides such as Chicago, Gregg, and Garner’s, with professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per standards; applies rules consistently.
• Ensures uniformity across assessment components and identifies errors with focus and precision.
• Follows client style guidelines, queries deviations when needed, and may modify guidelines.
• Understands copyeditor scope, flags concerns, and seeks learning opportunities to strengthen expertise.
• Assists with training, mentorship, and editorial/assessment trend sharing.
