Job summary

OBR is seeking a Service Superintendent to oversee cooling tower service, preventative maintenance, and repairs across the United States, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with clients and field crews, and coordination with engineering, project management, purchasing, and service management to exceed customer expectations. Extensive travel is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in cooling tower services.
• Knowledge of Windows-based applications.
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Rigging, forklift, and man-lift certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices; stop work if unsafe conditions arise.
• Interface with clients and oversee all aspects of service projects.
• Supervise, mentor, and train field technicians, Foremen, Leadmen, and crews.
• Conduct safety orientations and enforce OBR/industry standards.
• Manage service materials, equipment rentals, and job supplies.
• Oversee service processes, subcontractor progress, and project schedules.
• Prepare service and time reports; complete job closeout documentation to ensure client satisfaction.
• Monitor budgets, profitability, and adherence to scope and specifications.
• Lead pre-service meetings and coordinate with supervisory, engineering, and supplier personnel to resolve issues.
• Contribute to bid strategies, project planning, and problem-solving.
• Plan and manage projects ranging from inspections to large, complex jobs.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Maintain reasonable accessibility by phone and email outside of normal working hours and periodically monitor communications during weekends and non-working periods to address urgent operational, customer, or personnel matters when necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
