Job summary

LSG Sky Chefs in San Jose, CA is seeking upbeat team players with cooking experience to prepare dishes from scratch for our airline customers. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen, assembling and plating to exact customer specifications.

Overtime is mandatory and weekend shifts are required. Candidates should have at least 1 year cooking experience, culinary degree or certification preferred, and the ability to read and follow recipes.

Job description

LSG Sky Chefs with over 75 years of Catering history would like to add outgoing, team players to prepare products for our airline customers. The LSG Group is the world's leading provider of end-to-end on-board airline products and services. These include catering, on-board retail and entertainment, on-board equipment and logistics, consulting and lounge services.

Responsibilities and duties

Responsible for preparing complete dishes from scratch in a wide variety of cuisines; assembling, plating with a high level of consistency and in accordance with customer specifications.

Overtime is mandatory

Must be able to work weekends

The Ideal Candidate: MUST HAVE COOKING EXPERIENCE

• Culinary degree or cooking certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience cooking in a high volume institutional catering environment preferred.
• Must have strong efficiency in knife skills
• Must be able to read, write and understand English
• Must be able to use fingers/hands to handle equipment
• Must be able to lift and push 50+ lbs
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during shift of 8+ hours.
• Must be flexible and able to react to changing priorities.
• Must have an understanding of various cooking techniques and the ability to follow recipes
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must have a strong understanding of food safety and & HACCP regulations
