Actalent in Addison, TX is seeking a senior Controls Manager to lead large-scale automation programs in data centers, industrial facilities, and mission-critical environments. You will oversee design through commissioning, manage budgets and schedules, mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and contractors, and drive quality and safety across complex BMS, EPMS, and automation systems.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation, electrical construction, project management, or related fields.
• Strong project management experience, including scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, and earned value management.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
• Knowledge of electrical systems, automation systems, and engineering documentation practices.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate complex construction projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls and automation projects from design through commissioning and startup.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and earned value performance.
• Oversee the design and implementation of BMS, EPMS, electrical, and automation systems.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams throughout project execution.
• Support construction activities, installation oversight, and field coordination.
• Lead commissioning efforts and verify system performance in mission-critical environments.
• Troubleshoot complex controls and automation issues and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Develop project specifications and procurement documentation.
• Identify project risks, gaps, and opportunities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor controls engineers and project team members while fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
