Actalent is seeking an Automation & Controls Project Manager to lead complex projects from FEED through commissioning. The role requires deep technical expertise in control and safety systems and strong leadership to deliver safely and profitably while maintaining client relationships.

Based in Plano, TX or Houston, TX, this contract position emphasizes budgeting, scheduling, and successful project execution across multiple industrial sectors with a focus on value realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• PMP certification required.
• Experience managing control systems and automation projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or data center sectors.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and EV tracking experience.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of automation and controls projects from FEED to start-up.
• Serve as technical authority for control and information system solutions.
• Ensure architectures align with scope, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex challenges.
• Manage budgets, forecast costs, and track earned value.
• Identify changes early and develop change orders to protect margins.
• Communicate scope, schedule, and budget to teams and stakeholders.
