Job summary

International Motors, LLC is seeking a Senior Lead Controls Engineer to drive the controls strategy across high‑volume engine and transmission assembly lines in Huntsville, Alabama. You will lead day‑to‑day production support, mentor junior engineers, and partner with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to improve uptime and throughput.

This role requires hands‑on Siemens PLC/HMI experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to communicate across functions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required with controls focus.
• 5+ years in product manufacturing; 1+ year as lead.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls strategies to maximize uptime and throughput on engine and transmission lines.
• Primary controls escalation point for powertrain ops; troubleshoot safety, torque, traceability, line performance.
• Design and standardize Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA for launches, upgrades, and improvements.
• Diagnose automation issues in motion, safety, and networks; apply root-cause analysis.
• Oversee controls integration: installation, commissioning, upgrades, and long-term support.
• Evaluate automation and electrical equipment for performance, reliability and lifecycle costs.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; maintain robust controls docs and OEM compliance.
