Job summary

The AES Corporation in Colorado seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design and commissioning of control systems for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and over 5 years of controls engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related field required.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience, including work with utility‑scale solar PV and/or BESS facilities.
• Experience developing control strategies for grid‑connected renewable energy assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, testing, and commissioning of plant-level control systems for solar and battery projects.
• Develop control strategies for hybrid solar and storage facilities.
• Create test plans and support validation for controller technology.
