Job summary

General Mills' Cincinnati plant seeks a Senior Controls Engineer II to lead electrical and controls architecture, guide PLC programming, and ensure safe, reliable production. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to improve equipment performance and uptime.

This on-site role requires strong leadership, project management, and hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley systems, SCADA, and data integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Computer Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of related experience in manufacturing/industrial controls engineering.
• Experience with plant manufacturing systems and cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain plant electrical and controls architecture and conformance to standards.
• Lead PLC programming, instrumentation, networking, HMI/SCADA, and data standards for new and existing equipment.
• Provide technical direction for control-system networking, edge devices, software, and visualization.
• Support capital projects from feasibility through commissioning and handoff.
• Develop and maintain a controls strategy for maintenance and reliability improvement.
