Job summary

Thermo Systems seeks a Controls Engineer III to lead design, integration, and delivery of automation projects across industrial environments. You will guide start-up, FAT, and commissioning, and collaborate with project teams to ensure safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes PLC/HMI development, P&ID interpretation, and instrumentation specs, with travel up to 50% for project assignments. A strong leader capable of mentoring others is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Perform FAT tests for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical diagrams; provide feedback on field conditions.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Contribute to design and implementation of complex control systems.
• Provide instrumentation specifications for automation and control system designs.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and within scope.
• Identify and address technical challenges proactively.
