Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC in Mansfield, TX or Duquesne, PA is seeking a Controls Engineer III to design, integrate and deliver automation projects across industrial environments.

Lead project tasks, develop HMI/PLC solutions, interpret P&IDs, and coordinate with managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure safe, reliable performance and on-time delivery.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience; strong communication and problem-solving skills, plus travel up to 60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, CS or related technical discipline.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Lead FAT for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics; provide field condition feedback.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver engineering tasks on time and within scope.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and field teams.
