Job summary

Thermo Systems seeks a Controls Engineer III to design, integrate, and deliver automation projects across industrial environments. You will lead tasks on small to mid-sized projects, providing engineering expertise through design, implementation, testing, and commissioning.

The role requires PLC programming, HMI development, P&IDs interpretation, and strong IT/networking knowledge. Occasional travel up to 50% and potential on-call rotation support field-based project assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Perform FAT for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics and provide feedback on field conditions.
• Develop and implement PLC- and HMI-based automation solutions.
• Contribute to design and implementation of complex control systems.
• Provide instrumentation specifications for automation projects.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver engineering tasks on time and within scope.
• Identify and solve technical challenges proactively.
