Job summary

Thermo Systems is seeking a Controls Engineer III to support automation projects across our industrial and mission-critical environments. You will lead tasks or small projects, design, implement, test, and commission control systems, and collaborate with project teams to meet safety and performance requirements.

This field-based role requires PLC and HMI expertise, strong wiring and P&ID interpretation, and willingness to travel up to 60% to customer sites and fabrication locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Typically 4+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design, integration, and delivery of automation projects.
• Lead start-up and FAT for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics and provide feedback on field conditions.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with requirements.
