Job summary

Design Group, part of Barry-Wehmiller, leads Instrumentation and Controls for AI-driven data centers in Abilene and Haskell, TX. You will deploy and commission BMS and EPMS, configure I/O, and support on-site checkout across critical infrastructure like chillers, AHUs, transformers, and UPS systems.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years startup experience, heavy on-site time (75%), and willingness to travel or relocate to site with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Ability to spend significant time onsite 75%.
• Open to travel (100%) or relocate close to site; relocation assistance offered.
• Strong communicator and ability/desire to work within large teams.
• Experience with BMS and EPMS commissioning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; scopes will include both BMS and EPMS.
• Receive the applications from the design team and deploy them to each site.
• Point to Point checkout of thousands of devices.
• Configuration of communication protocols for multiple types of equipment including switchgear, breakers, etc.
• Configuration and calibration of instruments (meters, VFDs, flow meters, etc.).
• Deployment and commissioning of Ignition applications.
• Provide guidance/leadership to Design Group subcontractors (electricians) onsite.
