Job summary

Design Group is seeking a Controls Engineer II (BMS) in Austin, TX for full-time employment. The role focuses on leading instrumentation and controls for AI-driven data centers, including BMS and EPMS deployment, commissioning, and on-site checkout of critical infrastructure such as chillers and power distribution.

The ideal candidate has a engineering degree with 5+ years in control systems startup, is willing to travel or relocate, and can work effectively within large teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Ability to spend significant time onsite 75%.
• Willing to travel 100% or relocate near the site (relocation assistance offered).
• Strong communicator and ability to work within large teams.
• Experience with BMS and EPMS commissioning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; BMS and EPMS scopes.
• Receive applications from design team and deploy to each site.
• Point-to-Point checkout of thousands of devices.
• Configure communication protocols for equipment including switchgear and breakers.
• Configure and calibrate instruments; deploy and commission Ignition applications.
• Provide guidance to Design Group subcontractors onsite.
