Job summary

Design Group, part of Barry-Wehmiller, is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls engineer to lead the BMS and EPMS scope for AI-driven data centers in Abilene and Haskell, TX. You will manage onsite deployment, device checkout, and commissioning across multiple sites with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

You will collaborate with designers, electricians, and vendors, travel up to 100%, and relocate if needed.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
Ability to spend significant time onsite 75%
Open to 100% travel or relocation to site (relocation assistance offered)
Strong communicator and ability to work within large teams.
Experience with BMS and EPMS commissioning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; scopes will include both BMS and EPMS.
Receive the applications from the design team and deploy them to each site.
Point to Point check out of thousands of devices.
Configuration of communication protocols for equipment including switchgear, breakers, etc.
Configuration and calibration of instruments (meters, VFDs, flow meters, etc.)
Deployment and commissioning of Ignition applications.
Provide guidance/leadership to Design Group subcontractors onsite.
