Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group is leading the Instrumentation and Controls scope for AI-driven data centers in Abilene and Haskell, TX. The team handles BMS and EPMS engineering, procurement, system integration, on-site checkout, and commissioning of critical infrastructure, including chillers and power equipment.

The role emphasizes hands-on installation, commissioning of control systems, and coordination with electricians and design teams across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Willingness to spend 75% on-site and travel full-time or relocate near the sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; scopes will include both BMS and EPMS.
• Receive the applications from the design team and deploy them to each site.
• Point to Point check out of thousands of devices.
• Configuration of communication protocols for multiple types of equipment including switchgear, breakers, etc.
• Configuration and calibration of instruments (meters, VFDs, flow meters, etc.).
• Deployment and commissioning of Ignition applications.
• Provide guidance/leadership to Design Group subcontractors (electricians) onsite.
