Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group seeks an Instrumentation and Controls engineer to lead the BMS and EPMS scope for data centers in Abilene and Haskell, TX. You will oversee engineering, procurement, system integration, on-site checkout, and commissioning of instrumentation and control elements across critical infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years of startup experience with significant onsite time, strong communication within large teams, and willingness to travel or relocate near sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Ability to spend significant time onsite 75% and open to travel 100% or relocate.
• Strong communicator and ability/desire to work within large teams.
• Experience with BMS and EPMS commissioning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; scopes will include both BMS and EPMS.
• Receive the applications from the design team and deploy them to each site.
• Point to Point check out of thousands of devices.
• Configuration of communication protocols for multiple types of equipment including switchgear, breakers, etc.
• Configuration and calibration of instruments (meters, VFD’s, flow meters, etc.).
• Deployment and commissioning of Ignition applications.
• Provide guidance/leadership to Design Group subcontractors (electricians) onsite.
