Job summary

Design Group is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer in New York to join a national team delivering top‑tier control system integration. You will work with seasoned leaders and clients to design, implement, and commission automated manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities include PLC/SCADA programming, HMI configuration, and project leadership across multi‑discipline teams. Travel for installation and start‑up is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in control systems, troubleshooting and high‑intensity environments.
• Direct experience as a controls engineer in automated processes or system integration.
• Ignition or equivalent HMI/SCADA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions and participate in design, software config, testing and start‑up of automated processes.
• Design automation control systems and create project documentation to meet client needs.
• Diagnose automation problems and interface with clients, teams and vendors.
• Configure software/hardware per client specs and program PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Rockwell).
• Manage projects, schedules, site construction and start‑up activities, and ensure turnover to customer.
