Job summary

Aduro Advisors is seeking a Controller to lead client engagements in the Venture Capital and Private Equity space. You will balance client needs with team leadership, manage financial processes, and ensure high-quality technical work across multiple funds.

The role emphasizes mentoring, process optimization, and collaboration with senior leaders while advancing the firm's growth and development culture. Remote work available across the US with state restrictions mentioned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in the alternative asset industry (VC/PE preferred).
• Deep understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting with complex allocations.
• Experience in a client-facing role leading multiple engagements.
• Resourceful, driven with strong problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and attention to detail.
• Passion for mentoring and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

• Act as in-charge and main point of contact for multiple clients.
• Manage workflow and coordination among Aduro team members.
• Set up and run recurring client check-ins; discuss status, open items, and operational needs.
• Respond to ad-hoc client requests within 24 hours per Aduro processes.
• Reconcile banking transactions and prepare journal entries under US GAAP (Xero).
• Drive month-end close process and raise questions to Director/CFO or client.
• Reconcile and maintain investment information for all fund investments.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements including partners’ capital allocations.
• Utilize proprietary investment management database for investor communications.
• Update investment database for fund activity and investments.
• Prepare audit materials and manage year-end financial statement audit and tax work.
• Respond to ad hoc General Partner / Limited Partner data requests.
