Job summary

AvL Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting operations and financial reporting. You will ensure GAAP compliance, maintain internal controls, and partner with leadership to support strategic growth and operational excellence.

The role includes managing month-end close, audits, and coordination with tax advisors, while driving continuous improvement in processes and systems. Based in Asheville, NC, reporting to the Finance leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting personnel.
Experience with manufacturing accounting, inventory, and cost accounting.
Experience preparing audited financial statements.
Strong internal controls and compliance understanding.
CPA and Master's preferred.
Experience with ERP implementations or optimizations.

Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory and cost accounting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors.
Collaborate with Operations to improve cost management and profitability.
