GRASS America Inc. is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee all accounting operations, month-end close, and internal controls within a manufacturing environment in Kernersville, NC.

You will drive financial reporting, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and procurement. The role requires extensive cost and inventory accounting expertise, ERP systems experience, and a track record of building high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with Accounting Principles.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive leadership.
• Assist with costing models and updating machine rates.
• Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Analyze variances between actual and standard costs.
• Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Oversee day-to-day banking and cash flow management.
• Support capital expenditure planning and investment analysis.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
• Establish performance goals and accountability measures.
• Foster accuracy, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Work with operations, production, purchasing, sales, and HR.
• Assist with annual audits, tax filings and transfer pricing reviews.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain and strengthen internal control systems.
