Job summary

Morrison Mahoney LLP is seeking a Controller who will lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for our law firm. This senior role balances strategic guidance with hands-on execution to ensure accuracy, integrity, and efficiency.

You will work with the Director of Finance, attorneys, and accounting team, supervising staff and driving system upgrades, audits, and tax coordination. This on-site position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package in Boston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 8+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, with leadership exposure.
• Expertise in law firm accounting and trust/IOLTA accounting.
• Proficiency with Elite and Aderant; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead core accounting functions, AP/AR, trust/IOLTA accounts, GL, and financial statements.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, tax filings, cash flow, and financial insights for leadership.
• Supervise accounting staff; ensure compliance, audits, and system improvements.
