Job summary

Metabase is hiring an experienced Controller to own accounting and financial operations. You will manage core accounting, audits, tax, payments, and expenses, with initial reliance on external firms and potential in-house expansion over time.

The role requires CPA, strong US GAAP and SaaS revenue knowledge, multi-entity accounting, and a track record of end-to-end close and audits. Based in the US, you will support a remote-first, globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• CPA active and licensed.
• Expertise with US GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition.
• Experience with multi-entity / international accounting.
• End-to-end audit management experience.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• General ledger & close — manage month-end close, coordinating with external accountants.
• Audit — own external auditor relationship and coordinate information requests.
• Tax — manage external tax accountants; handle registrations and payments.
• Accounts payable & expenses — run payment cycles and manage corporate card/expense systems.
• Over time — lead implementation of new systems (ERP, revenue recognition, payments) and potentially in-house close process.
