Periodic Labs in Menlo Park, CA seeks its first in-house Controller to own accounting, financial reporting, controls, audit readiness, and compliance. This hands-on builder role shapes the function as the company grows across AI, physical sciences, and R&D.

You will manage monthly close, develop robust processes, oversee U.S. and international entities, and partner with legal, operations, and finance to enable scalable, accurate reporting and strategic decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license preferred
• Experience leading or building accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of monthly close and internal controls

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and GAAP financial statements.
• Manage daily accounting operations and robust processes for procurement, vendor management, expenses, revenue, and capex.
• Develop close cadence and provide leadership with reliable income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow visibility.
• Oversee accounting policies for leases, fixed assets, equity and stock-based compensation, R&D, and foreign currency.
• Coordinate intercompany and statutory reporting for multiple entities including UK and Canada.
• Enhance NetSuite functionality and integration for scalable reporting.
• Collaborate with Legal, People, Operations, and Lab teams on contracts and programs.
• Act as primary contact with external auditors and tax advisors.
