Job summary

Function Health seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to design, implement, and scale a modern accounting infrastructure in the United States. You will lead GAAP-compliant month- and quarter-end closes, manage GL, intercompany processes, and international accounting while partnering with the Controller to optimize ERP and AI-powered tools.

You will mentor the accounting team, drive scalable processes, and stay ahead of emerging automation technologies to support the company’s rapid growth

Qualifications

• CPA (or equivalent) certification and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and leadership experience at a high-growth tech or consumer-focused company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and multi-entity/multi-currency accounting.
• Experience enabling automation and AI-driven reconciliation/close processes.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, consolidations, AP, payroll and intercompany cross-charges.
• Design and implement scalable accounting policies, processes, and controls.
• Partner with Controller to optimize ERP, procurement, and T&E tools with automation focus.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close with GAAP compliance.
• Oversee international operations and global tax matters.
• Support external audits and investor reporting.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools for real-time leadership insights.
• Mentor and develop accounting team members.
• Stay current on emerging accounting tech and automation best practices.
