Job summary

The State University of New York is seeking a Senior Contract Manager in Albany, NY to lead complex procurements and contract lifecycles across system administration and SUNY-wide contracts. You will guide negotiations, ensure compliance with NYS laws, and mentor procurement staff.

You will supervise contract managers, develop procurement strategies, and collaborate with campuses and state agencies to optimize performance, transparency, and value in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' procurement experience, or 8 years with Associate's degree.
• Experience leading complex procurements and high-value contracts.
• Experience in SUNY or New York government procurement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop Contract Managers and staff; provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Mentor and guide Contract Managers on procurement strategies and processes.
• Lead complex, high-value procurements across technology, services, and strategic categories.
• Develop procurement strategies, RFPs/IFBs/RFQs/RFIs and vendor negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with NYS procurement laws, policies, and guidelines.
• Manage full contract lifecycle from planning to closeout for SUNY System Administration and system-wide contracts.
• Collaborate with campuses and agencies to align on procurement objectives and risk management.
