Job summary

FreeStar Financial Credit Union seeks a dynamic Consumer Lending Manager to lead the lending team and drive operational excellence in St. Clair Shores.

You will oversee loan servicing, processing, and compliance with regulations while guiding staff and delivering superior member service. The role requires strong knowledge of lending operations, regulatory requirements, and a track record of improving efficiencies through technology and cross-training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of related experience in financial services.
• Knowledge of federal regulations listed in the posting (see below).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day consumer loan servicing operations and portfolio management.
• Ensure loan processing and servicing procedures are current and compliant.
• Oversee loan applications to meet closing standards.
• Analyze lending processes to improve efficiency using technology.
• Monitor collateral, lien perfection, and insurance processes.
• Ensure insurance claims are filed and processed timely.
• Cross-train staff to ensure adequate coverage.
• Manage credit card program functions and reporting.
