Milliman seeks a Consulting Actuary for its Atlantic Region Property and Casualty practice, in a hybrid role based out of either the Boston, MA or Burlington, VT offices. The position emphasizes high-level peer review, project oversight, and client relationship management.

The ideal candidate holds FCAS, has up to 10 years of actuarial experience, and demonstrates mastery of R along with strong Excel, Access and PowerPoint abilities. Travel up to 20% nationwide may be required.

Qualifications

• Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) at time of application.
• Up to 10 years of professional actuarial full-time experience in pricing, reserving, modeling, risk management, or reinsurance topics for NA/Europe.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher with quantitative coursework.
• Mastery of R for statistical modeling.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Direct client interaction and vendor coordination.
• Train and guide Actuarial Analysts on data cleaning and checks.
• Lead marketing opportunities including publications and presentations.
• Oversee project execution, ad hoc or long-term.
• Draft reports and exhibits; prepare internal/external correspondence.
• Present findings to peers, managers, and client relationship managers.
• Ensure quality control and risk management compliance.
• Document data compilation processes and implement improvements.
• Perform other duties as directed by practice Principals.
