Job summary

Milliman is seeking a Consulting Actuary in the Atlantic Region to provide high‑level peer review, project oversight, and client relationship management across our Boston, MA and Burlington, VT footprint. The role emphasizes mentoring actuaries, data-driven analysis in Excel, and advanced modeling in R, with opportunities to lead marketing efforts and present findings to clients.

The ideal candidate will have FCAS, up to 10 years of actuarial experience, and strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint,

Qualifications

• FCAS fellowship required at time of application.
• Up to 10 years of professional actuarial fulltime work experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, capital modeling, ERM, and/or reinsurance.
• Bachelor's degree or higher with quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics.
• Mastery of R for statistical modeling.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Direct interaction with client and vendor partners (broker, captive manager, auditor).
• Direct, train and provide guidance to Actuarial Analysts.
• Lead marketing opportunities including publications and presentations.
• Oversee the execution of projects, ad hoc or longer-term.
• Draft written reports and exhibits, and prepare internal/external correspondence.
• Present findings to peers, project managers, and client relationship managers.
• Comply with internal quality control, risk management, and peer review guidelines.
• Write detailed documentation of data compilation for projects.
• Implement process improvements to produce better results.
• Perform or assist with other duties at the direction of practice Principals.
