Job summary

Milliman, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Actuary for the Atlantic Region Property and Casualty practice, with hybrid work options based in Boston, MA, or Burlington, VT. The role emphasizes client relationships, project oversight, and mentoring junior actuaries across data-intensive engagements.

The ideal candidate brings FCAS, up to 10 years of actuarial experience, and mastery of R, Excel, and database tools. Travel nationwide may be required; relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• FCAS required at time of application.
• Up to 10 years of professional actuarial full-time work experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, capital modeling, enterprise risk management, or reinsurance-related topics for NA/Europe.
• Bachelor's degree or higher with quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics.
• Mastery of R for statistical modeling.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Interact with client and vendor partners (broker, captive manager, auditor).
• Lead and mentor Actuarial Analysts (data cleaning, checking).
• Lead marketing opportunities including publications and presentations.
• Oversee project execution (ad hoc or long-term).
• Draft reports and exhibits; prepare correspondence.
• Present findings to peers, PMs, and client relationship managers.
• Ensure internal quality control and risk management compliance.
• Document data compilation processes for projects.
• Implement process improvements for better results.
• Support Principals and perform other duties as directed.
