Job summary

Qualifications

• Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, or finance experience.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience with construction risk or oil and gas.
• Deep knowledge of construction risk products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking skills with ability to identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and make timely decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to negotiate with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external partners by meeting agents and brokers to market Travelers products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with the Managing Director to create regional plans.
• May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
